 BHEA
Teens
For more information about
our BHEA Teen Activities please email:
How our Teen Program operates:
Our Teen Program is for students grade 7
through 12 and, like the rest of BHEA, is entirely run by volunteers.
We look to our parents and teens to
plan
and organize
our
Teen Activities.
The goal is to have at least one monthly activity for Teens, but there
are typically many more than that. Have an idea for an activity? First,
check with the Teen Activity Coordinator (Leigh
Laney) to make sure
that noone else is already working on the same thing. (If they are,
maybe you could volunteer to help.) After Miss Leigh gives you the
go-ahead, ask a parent to check the Adult
Loop Calendar to make sure
the date you
want
is
clear
and
ask them to post your event. You will be responsible to post your event
on the Teen Loop and for gathering sign-ups and payment. You may find
our regular Field Trip Check List helpful
in planning. Remember, the BHEA Dress and Behavior Codes apply to all
BHEA events. Refer to
the BHEA Handbook with any questions.
Teen Liaison:
New
for 2007-08 school year! Michaela Pruitt has been chosen by the teens
as their representative.
Teens should pass along ideas for activities, policies, etc., or questions
to Michaela at teenliaison@bhea.net.
Teens should also feel free to bring ideas directly to the Council
at council@bhea.net.
Teen
Loop:
All BHEA Teens are encouraged
to sign up for the BHEA
Teen Loop. This is where you can keep up with your friends and
learn about Teen activities. Lots of good ideas are born on the Teen
Loop! Parents can be assured of your safety, as this loop is always
moderated by a BHEA Parent and each participant's membership in BHEA
is verified upon initiation of the process to join.
BHEA
Yearbook Staff:
All BHEA Teens are invited to
assist LaDonna Covert in the production of the BHEA Yearbook. A free
class will be given at the noon hour of Monday Fun for high school
students interested in producing BHEA’s 2007-8 yearbook from start
to finish.
Participants will work
on
all aspects
of
production,
including layout and design, gathering ads, generating sales, and more.
Students should be committed to working hard and to participating in
this class both semesters. What
is being planned for Teens in 2007-08?:
