MONDAY, NOV. 28
* Swim Practice at Maryville College -7:25-9:00 a.m. If interested contact
Sandra Harrison
*High School classes will resume at Monday Fun. There will be no pizza
orders taken, so you will need to bring your own lunch.
*Mark your calendar. Monday Fun class sign-ups will be held on Monday,
January 9th from 10-12 at our Monday Fun church. All class fees and the
$20 enrichment fee will need to be paid that day. This will be the only
day we will have sign-ups. The class schedule and additional details
will follow through the loop and e-alert system in the coming weeks.
There will be a separate sign up in December for the 2-3 high school
classes that will be added to the schedule.
* Boy Scouts Regular Meeting and Board of Review, 7:00-8:15 at First
Christian Church
TUESDAY, NOV. 29
*Chaperoned Field Trip to A Christmas Carol
Time- 8:15 rendezvous in Maryville for carpool, 9:00 arrival, 9:30 show begins,
12:00 NOON pick up at the theatre or back in Maryville around 12:45. Reservations
are closed for this trip.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 30
* Swim Practice at Maryville College, 7:25 a.m.
*"Little Women" presented by The Oak Ridge Junior Playhouse
When: 11:15am.
Reservations for this field trip are closed.
THURSDAY, DEC. 1
* AHG/Cub Scouts meeting 3:30-5:00 at Beech Grove Baptist Church. This meeting
will be AHG's annual Grandmother/Mother/Daughter Tea.
*Teen Christmas Dance- 7:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Spring Formal Committee
Who: BHEA Teens in grades 7-12
Hors d'oeuvres will be served
Tickets will be available at Monday Fun and will be $7 if bought beforehand,
or you can contact Anna Henson. You can also
buy a ticket for $10 at the door with your parent. The dress code must
be signed by every student, and their parent, who plans to attend the
dance.
FRIDAY, DEC. 2
* Nutcracker Ballet performed by The Appalachian Ballet Company
TIME: 10:00 AM (until about 11:45)
PLACE: Knoxville Civic Auditorium.

FIELD TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
*What: You are invited to travel to Southeast Asia
When: Monday, December 5th at 1 PM with the World to Write Class.
Who: A guest speaker will present dress, food customs and an exciting
slide show of Thailand. Timely holiday and Christmas celebrations will
be discussed. Students attending can have their name written in Thai
characters.
RSVP to this educational and exciting event to reserve your spot. (Contact
Julia Jinks). Check the hostess table for room assignment.
* Ballet Gloria presents their Christmas performance What Child is This?
When: Saturday, December 10 at Clayton Performing Arts Center (Pellissippi
Location)
Shows are at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Cost: The group price is $7 per person and you may choose either show.

* Announcing BHEA's Annual Christmas Program/Monday Fun Finale! You are
invited to participate as a participant, helper, member of the audience,
or all three! Tuesday, December 13th from
7:00-8:15 PM. Please help us make this a wonderful celebration of the
blessings of home-schooling and of the Reason for the Season! If you
would like to participate in the program, please fill out the Participant
Registration Form and bring it to Monday Fun by December 5th, or e-mail
your information to Marj Overstreet. Extra copies will
be available at Monday Fun or you can email Marj for one.

* Mark your calendar for the BHEA Science Fair on January 28, 2012 to
be
hosted by the Maryville College Science Club. The fair is an outstanding
opportunity for students from Kindergarten to 12th grade to explore
science and compete in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Students will
prepare an experiment and display their results and dialog with judges
who will speak scientifically about projects and possibly extend
knowledge of discoveries.

*Coats for the Cold-If your family or if
you know of a family in our homeschool group that could use coats this
winter and cannot afford to
purchase them, please send me an email. A member of our group has a father
that is the captain of the Blount County Fire Department and he asked
if any of us in the homeschooling community could use coats from their
coats for the cold program. Thank you. Julie Griesen

all kinds of discussions, announcements, etc. that don't always get posted
to the loop.
* The BHEA Calendar is for everyone! All members can access this by going

The calendar is updated frequently. You can also print this out if you'd

* If you would like to join our "chatty" yahoo group, please

you can post questions about anything from curriculum to dishwasher repair,
items to sell or buy, prayer requests, etc. Any member may join the group.
This is a great place of new families to "meet" others, find
out about activities, etc.
AROUND THE AREA
*What: The 24th Annual Nutcracker on Ice
Where: the Ice Chalet
When: December 6th - 10th. Show times are 7:00pm Tuesday-Saturday, with
an additional show on Saturday 12.10.11 at 2:00pm.
Cost: Ticket prices are $12 and $15. You can pre-order your tickets at
the hostess table during Monday Fun classes, or you can contact Michelle
Nesbit
*What: The Homeschool Ski Program sponsored by the Gatlinburg SnowSport
Center
located at the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort. The program offers a one-hour
lesson each week, lift ticket for unlimited skiing the day of the lesson,
and ski rental
When: A four-week class designed for students & parents. The program
begins Sunday January 8, 2012. Registration is due postmarked by January
2,
2012. Class times are as follows: Beginners (Level 1) 9:30,
Intermediates (Levels 2, 3, 4) 11:00, Advanced (levels 5, 6) 12:30. Lessons
will be
provided Jan 8, January 22, January 29, and Feb 5. No activities offered
on Martin
Luther King Day, January 13,14,15,16 and Presidents' Day, February
17,18,19,20.
Who: Children 7 years old and up and must be accompanied by a parent.
Cost: The alpine (ski) rate has increased to $120.00, however they now
include
helmets with the rental equipment. There is no discount for own equipment.
Snowboard is $140.00 renting equipment or $120.00 with your own equipment.
You may
choose not to participate in the lessons if you are only interested in
hitting the
slopes - price remains the same. The fee also covers the tram ticket
to ride to the slopes, but you may also drive to the resort. Parking
is $5.00 at the tram or at the resort. Parents
not in the class will have to purchase their own tram tickets; $9.50
Adult,
$6.50 children 7-11, free for children 6 and under with paid adult.

*Interested in Playing Girls High School Basketball
Mark Williamson, the girls high school basketball coach at Maryville
Christian, is trying to get the message out to all high school girls
that are interested in playing basketball and are currently not on a
team. Please contact him if you are interested in playing and he will
try to make arrangements for you to participate on his team. Mark Williamson
