Homeschool 101 Seminar - April 30
5:30 PM - Curriculum Tables Open
6:15 PM - Presentation

Blount County Public Library, in partnership with the Blount Home Education Association (BHEA), recently hosted a successful Homeschool 101 seminar. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and made the event a resounding success.

The evening began with curriculum tables available at 5:30 pm, where seasoned homeschool parents were on hand to answer individual questions. The formal presentation started at 6:15 p.m. in the Sharon Lawson Room, covering essential topics for both prospective and new homeschoolers, including:

  • The benefits of homeschooling.
  • Getting started and legally registering to homeschool.
  • The varying approaches to homeschooling.
  • An introduction to what BHEA offers local homeschoolers in terms of support.
  • And much more!

We were honored to have Diane Benson, HomeLife Academy Director of Academics and Counseling & BHEA Alumni Parent, as our featured speaker. Diane's extensive experience and insights provided valuable guidance to all attendees.

Featured Speaker: Diane P. Benson
Diane graduated from Adrian College in Michigan with a degree in Psychology and earned an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She has been active in the homeschooling community since 2005, teaching co-op classes, facilitating roundtables, and coaching students on transitioning from high school to college. Diane is currently the Director of Academics and Counseling at HomeLife Academy.

We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and hope to see you again. Your participation is vital in making these events successful and informative.
