Discover the BHEA Enrichment Program!

We’re thrilled to introduce you to one of the most rewarding opportunities BHEA offers—our Enrichment Program. This unique program is designed to enhance your homeschool journey by providing hands-on learning, rich social connections, and shared experiences that extend far beyond the traditional classroom.

Whether your child is in PreK or high school, our Monday Enrichment sessions offer a diverse lineup of creative, academic, and practical classes—all thoughtfully planned and led by fellow BHEA parents who understand the challenges and rewards of homeschooling firsthand.

While participation is completely optional, many families—currently about half of our membership—choose to join each year. Why? Because Enrichment adds structure and variety to the week, helps kids build lasting friendships, and gives parents the opportunity to plug into a vibrant, supportive community.

You remain fully in control of your child’s education. Our goal is to support you by offering a Monday experience your family will look forward to—one filled with engagement, encouragement, and enrichment.

We hope you’ll take this opportunity to get involved, meet new families, and make the most of everything Enrichment has to offer.

We’d love to see you there.

When do Sessions begin?

What sessions are being offered in the Spring Semester?

Our Fall 2025 Enrichment session grid is now live!
Instructions will be sent to current members regarding sign-up dates and updated requirements. Please note that all sessions will be held on Mondays at a single, convenient location in Maryville

Why Join the BHEA Enrichment Program?

The BHEA Enrichment Program is a dynamic and meaningful extension of our homeschool community—bringing families together for hands-on learning, creative exploration, and lasting friendships.

Open to all BHEA members in good standing, Enrichment offers a wide variety of classes and activities for students from PreK through high school. Each session is thoughtfully planned and taught by fellow homeschooling parents who share your passion for education and your desire to build a strong, connected community.

Whether you're hoping to enrich your child’s academic experience, explore new interests, or simply enjoy Mondays in the company of like-minded families, Enrichment provides a place to grow, learn, and belong.

We invite you to jump in and be part of something truly special.

How many weeks will the sessions meet?

The Enrichment Program runs in two 12-week semesters each academic year.
Each semester includes 12 weekly sessions, offering a consistent and immersive experience designed to enrich and expand your child’s educational journey. With engaging, hands-on classes for students from PreK through 12th grade, this program provides meaningful opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection throughout the school year.

How much does this cost?

Affordable, High-Value Learning Opportunities for Your Whole Family

Joining BHEA opens the door to an incredible resource: our Enrichment Program, designed to enhance and complement your homeschool journey through hands-on, collaborative learning experiences.

To participate, families pay a one-time Enrichment Program registration fee of $60 per year—whether you attend one semester or both. This covers access to the program for your entire household.

Each class within the program is led by a passionate BHEA member who serves as the instructor. Instructors set their own class fees, which are clearly listed in the class descriptions so you can make informed choices that fit your family’s schedule and budget. These fees are payable directly to the instructor and are due before the start of the session.

Timely payment is essential. If payment is not received by the deadline, your child may be dropped from the session to make room for others—especially when there is a waitlist. We ask that families honor this process out of respect for our volunteer instructors and fellow members.

Participation in the Enrichment Program is exclusively available to current BHEA members. Our annual family membership fee is only $50, making it one of the most affordable ways to connect with local homeschoolers, participate in events, and enrich your child’s learning with high-quality weekly classes.

Please note: The Family Membership fee is not prorated or refundable and remains the same no matter when you join during the academic year.

We can’t wait to welcome your family and support your homeschool journey with the enriching experiences and lasting friendships that come with being part of BHEA!

Can I drop my kids off on their Enrichment Days?

We understand this is a common question—and we want to be clear: if your child is under the age of 16, a parent or responsible adult must remain on-site throughout the day. This helps ensure that students are supported in their behavior, attendance, and overall experience.

As part of our cooperative model, your presence isn’t just a policy—it’s a vital part of what makes our community thrive. Enrichment Days depend on engaged families who contribute not only through assigned jobs but also by being available and invested in the learning environment.

Students aged 16 and older may attend Enrichment independently, without a parent present, if they meet the eligibility requirements. However, even when a student attends on their own, the family is still required to fulfill their Family Work Commitment (FWC).

  • FWCs are assigned based on the parent’s availability and schedule—not the student’s.

  • You may be asked to serve before, during, or after your child’s session time.

  • Opting out of FWC is not permitted simply because a student attends without a parent.

So while your kids learn and grow, we invite you to do the same—connect with fellow parents, lend a hand, and enjoy being part of a supportive homeschool community.

We’re better together.

Is the Gear Up meeting mandatory?

Yes—Absolutely Mandatory!

Attendance at a Gear Up meeting is required for all families new to the enrichment program—in order to secure your child's spot in any Enrichment session. No exceptions. If you do not attend a Gear Up meeting, your child will be removed from the session roster.

Gear Up meetings are scheduled each semester after session signups but before the first day of classes. You will receive advance notice of meeting dates so you can make arrangements to attend. One adult from each household must be present at one of the scheduled meetings. This is non-negotiable and a key part of participating in our co-op.

For the 2025–26 academic year, Gear Up meetings will be held on:

  • Monday, August 11 @ 10:00 am

  • Monday, August 18 @ 10:00 am

Children are welcome to come along but must remain with you for the entire meeting.

To register, please log into your BHEA account and sign up through the calendar. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

We can’t wait to kick off a great semester—together!
