Kaycie Smith To All Instructors

We have been BHEA members for 12 years, and I have instructed for over half of those years. My classes have included cooking, baking, preschool fun, building classes, scrapbooking and more. I have been teaching cooking and baking for probably 7 years and missed it terribly during the time we didn't have classes. I have taught all ages and enjoyed it, but I really, really loved when I taught high school several years ago. There is so much you can do in the kitchen with older kids!

Before homeschooling, I attended Johnson Bible College where I studied early childhood education and received my degree in Bible and Youth Ministry. I have been a stay at home mom for over 16 years. However, I did all of the bookkeeping and handled customer service when we owned our own computer repair business for five years starting in 2008 and also worked for two seasons at Rocky Top Snoballs - because it was so much fun!

I have 4 children; their grades range from 3rd-12th grade. So we have finished just over half of our homeschool journey - 12 years down, 10 to go. We have been attending Grace Community Church in Maryville for over 5 years and love being a part of the community there.
