At its heart, BHEA is a ministry. The mission of BHEA is to support homeschooling families in Blount and surrounding counties. Started in the 1980s, BHEA is a non-profit organization that strives to provide support, information and encouragement to over 350 families. We do this through the help of our many parent volunteers, including a board of directors.
In addition to an extensive, but optional Enrichment program for all grades (Pre-K to 12), BHEA sponsors various clubs, field trips, high school awards and honors, and other activities throughout the school year to enhance the academic program that each participating family provides at home. We offer a wide array of social events for all ages, as well. See "Benefits of Membership" and the "BHEA Calendar" to learn more. Keep in mind that some of our calendar activities are kept behind a login and password for our families' privacy and security.
Our membership fees are just $30 per family, per year (13 months, covering June 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024).
As a membership-driven organization, it a privilege to serve our fellow BHEA member families and to provide support for their homeschool journeys.
